Part-Time courses

If you want to study on a part-time basis, or study by distance learning, we would be pleased to explore various opportunities with you, depending on how much time you have for studying and what qualifications you hold already. These are some possible options:

If you have time available during the week and would like to obtain either an initial theological qualification or credit at higher levels, you can join any of our courses part-time. You do not have to enrol for the entire course and might like simply to attend for certain modules. Lectures for each module are offered one day a week; either Mondays or Thursdays depending on the module.

If you have a diploma in theology already but would like to upgrade to a degree, you could enrol for a BA in Theology in Ministry (Open University validated) or a BA in Ministry (University of Nottingham validated) with admission at stage three. As a part-time student, you can spread your study over 2 – 4 years and are required to attend a total of 6 study units. These units are offered either as In-Service Study Weeks, where tuition is given over a single week, or as short study units with tuition spread over four weeks, on a single day in each of those weeks. Obviously, the four-week units are more accessible to those within reasonable travelling distance.

If you have a degree in theology or a degree in another subject plus a diploma in theology, you could enrol for our MA in the Theology of Mission and Ministry. This is validated by the University of Nottingham. As a part-time student on the Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma or Masters course, you can spread your study over 2 – 4 years and are required to attend a total of 6 study units. These units are offered either as In-Service Study Weeks, where tuition is given over a single week, or as short study units with tuition spread over four weeks, on a single day in each of those weeks. Obviously, the four-week units are more accessible to those within reasonable travelling distance.
