"Welcome to the St John's web site. This is a great place to study and train for Christian ministry, and we trust that the site will give you a good idea of the diverse life of the St John's. Please look around and do get in touch - we'd love to hear from you!"
Revd Dr David Hilborn

Our vision here at St John’s is to equip Christians for mission in a world of change. For more than 150 years we’ve pioneered innovation in ministerial training, and we continue to form disciples for front-line leadership through programmes that are context-based, integrated and relevant.

We’re Anglican in our foundation and value our ongoing links with the Church of England, but we welcome students from a wide range of denominations, Christian organisations and networks. Our beautiful campus on the outskirts of Nottingham provides an ideal environment for study, prayer and fellowship.

We’ll help you discern God’s will as you explore his call on your life, discover all that God has in store for you, and grow as a disciple of Christ. Our programmes can be tailored to your own ministry while helping you deepen your understanding of the gospel through learning, working and worshipping in community. You’ll develop your appreciation of theology, ministry and mission so that you can inspire others in their faith and vocation - to the glory of God, for the sake of Jesus, and in the power of the Spirit.

Our new prospectus is designed to help you understand our vision and values, and to give you an overview of the different opportunities there are to train with us here at St John’s. More detailed information about specific programmes can be found on the accompanying information cards.

Once you’ve read this through, do get in touch with us. We’ll be glad to answer your questions and arrange for you to attend one of our visitor days or open days. In the meantime, we wish you every blessing as you continue to explore your part in the mission of God.

'I have met so many people over the years for whom the experience of training for ordination at St John's was a hugely spiritual and rewarding experience, with a great sense of community. St Johns' legacy to the Church, as well as the real warmth of support, are valuable ingredients  to the exciting developments now being planned.
There has always been a pioneering tradition at St John's, a looking to the future whilst being grateful to God for our past. This means there is a need for close co-operation and collaboration with our neighbours in every sense - local, regional and national - and I look forward to us working together in the months ahead.
It is a privilege to be involved with a superb and committed staff and trustee team to help turn our visions into a reality.'

Chris Smith, chair of St John's Council.

'I am really pleased to be associated with the work of St John's at this particular time. The Church of England is at a crucial moment of history - we grow or we die. St John's is in the business of training leaders who will, under the hand of God the Trinity, be pioneers for growth and agents of the new life of the Spirit.'

The Rt Revd Pete Broadbent, Bishop of Willesden, member of the leadership team of Spring Harvest.

'As someone deeply committed to mission, ministry and leadership training among young people today, I am excited about being involved with St John's in the challenge of growing leaders with vision, understanding and creativity to serve God in a rapidly changing world.'

Mike Pilavachi, Executive Director of Soul Survivor and President

'The importance of ensuring that the future leaders of the Church of England at whatever level are well trained cannot be over-emphasised. I am therefore very pleased to be able to be associated with St John's as it seeks to carry out and develop this vital ministry.'

Philip Carver, Treasurer, St John's Nottingham
